Global Citizens Public Charter School is free and open to all DC residents. We are accepting applications for students in Pre-K3, Pre-K4, Kindergarten and 1st grade for the 2023-2024 school year.
WORLD’S TOP THREE LANGUAGES
Global Citizens School is the first dual-language immersion elementary school in Washington, DC, to offer language immersion in both Mandarin Chinese and Spanish pathways - exposing students to the top three languages spoken in the world.
Paired with a focus on social justice and whole child wellness, Global Citizens School will equip children to become empathetic, globally competent, and socially-minded leaders who are prepared for a future we cannot yet imagine.
We are located in Ward 7 and excited about providing children and their families living east of the Anacostia River with equitable access to dual language immersion programs. Global Citizens School will offer Pre-K3 through Second grade during the 2024-2025 school year, and will expand an additional grade-level each year until it reaches Pre-K3 - 5th grade in 2027.

DUAL LANGUAGE IMMERSION
Dual language immersion (DLI) programs have been proven to have multiple benefits: increased cognitive development, improved executive functioning, and enhanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In these programs, children also develop a greater appreciation and empathy for other cultures.
