Immerse your child in a language today, and create new opportunities for them tomorrow!

DUAL LANGUAGE IMMERSION

Dual language immersion (DLI) programs have been proven to have multiple benefits: increased cognitive development, improved executive functioning, and enhanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In these programs, children also develop a greater appreciation and empathy for other cultures.

At Global Citizens, we use a 90/10 model for Dual Language Immersion (DLI), where children learn in the partner language for 90% of the time and in English for 10% of the time.  In grades K-5, children receive standards-based instruction (aligned to the Common Core State Standards) in reading, writing, math, and science in the partner language for 50% of the time (for half the day) and in English for 50% of the time (for half the day).  This is called the “50/50 model for DLI,” as 50% of instruction is in the partner language.

Key Objectives

We focus on 38 objectives in key areas including, social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, the arts, and English language acquisition.

Staff & Classrooms

Each Pre-K classroom is staffed with one language lead teacher, one language support teacher, and assigned an English teacher. Grades K-5 will be staffed with one lead teacher and one support teacher.
