Registration Process for New and Returning Students

Congratulations!  We are excited that your child has been accepted or will be returning to Global Citizens Public Charter School for the 2024-2025 school year.  Welcome to our Global Citizens Family! Please note that this information is for families that have either received a lottery seat acceptance from MySchool DC or are currently students enrolled in our program.

Please provide additional documentation to the Global Citizens PCS Enrollment Team to fully secure your seat. After you have been matched or offered a space, you will receive an email that delineates all of the documentation needed to fully enroll in our school.  All documentation is due to our team by Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 5:00 pm (electronically). After this time, your seat may be given to another student on our waitlist. 

Documentation Requirements (New Families)

• Complete the Global Citizens PCS SY 2024 - 2025 Enrollment Application.  This is a requirement for all students.

• Complete all required fields in the DC Residency Verification Form/Home Language Survey (English) / DC Residency Verification Form/Home Language Survey (Spanish). When you click on this link, please click “fill a copy” to complete the document. This is a requirement for all students. 

• Compile supporting documentation (refer to page 2 of the DC Residency Verification Form and/or the information below) and email them along with a copy of your students birth certificate to enrollment@globalcitizensschool.org.

• Provide a copy of your child’s DOH Universal Health Certificate, if expired. (Note that this form is valid for up to one year from the original date signed by the physician).

• Provide a copy of your child’s DC Oral Health Assessment Form if expired. (Note that this form is valid for up to one year from original date signed by the physician).

• Provide a copy of your Student’s Original Birth Certificate.

• Provide a photo ID (of the person that is enrolling the student).

• Provide proof of Legal Guardianship (if applicable).

• Provide a copy of your child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP)/504 plan (if applicable).

If you have been accepted as a non-resident tuition-paying student, please refer to the Non-DC Residents Information Page and complete the tuition agreement with the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education prior to the document submission deadline. 

Documentation Requirements (Returning Families)

• Complete the Global Citizens PCS SY 2024 - 2025 Enrollment Application.  This is a requirement for all students.

• Complete all required fields in the DC Residency Verification Form/Home Language Survey (English) / DC Residency Verification Form/Home Language Survey (Spanish) When you click on this link, please, click “fill a copy” to complete the document. This is a requirement for all students.

• Compile supporting documentation (based on page 2 of the DC Residency Verification Form) and email them along with a copy of your child’s birth certificate to enrollment@globalcitizensschool.org.

• Provide a copy of your child’s updated DOH Universal Health Certificate, if expired. (Note that this form is valid for up to one year from the original date signed by the physician).

• Provide a copy of the child’s updated DC Oral Health Assessment Form if expired. (Note that this form is valid for up to one year from the original date signed by the physician).

Proof of Residency (Required for New and Returning Families)  

Annually, one of the following are required to verify DC Residency status:

• A pay stub;

• Supplemental Security Income annual benefits notification;

• A copy of Form D40 certified by the DC Office of Tax and  Revenue;

• Military Housing Order;

• An embassy letter;

• Proof that a child is a ward of the District of Columbia, in the form of a Court Order; and

• Proof of financial assistance from the DC Government, in the form of either

• Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) verification of income notice or recertification approval letter;

• Medicaid approval letter or recertification letter;

• Housing assistance letter from a housing shelter, including contact name and phone number or a letter from the Housing Authority; or

• Proof of receipt of financial assistance from another DC Government program.

If none of the above items are available to verify residency, two of the following items are required:

• Unexpired DC motor vehicle registration;

• Unexpired lease or rental agreement;

• Unexpired DC motor vehicle operator's permit or other official non-driver identification; and

• One utility bill (only gas, electric and water bills acceptable)
