Jenifer Moore, Founding Principal

As a member of the Founding Team, Jenifer was instrumental in the development of our Global Citizens key pillars, core values, and curriculum, and she facilitated professional development focused on our curriculum to our founding teachers. As the Founding Principal, Jenifer serves as the instructional specialist working to increase student achievement, create a positive school culture, and promote instructional consistency in content areas and language acquisition across grade levels. She fosters a professional culture of learning focused on developing the capacity of each educator to ensure each student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Previously, Jenifer served as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Key School in Annapolis, MD, where she guided the school through the process of incorporating DEI into all aspects of the school, including but not limited to equitable policies, curriculum, student and family engagement, communication, and hiring. Jenifer has also served as the Head of School and Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Sela Public Charter School, the only Hebrew Immersion school in Washington, DC. Jenifer has served children of Washington, DC since 2003 as an educator and school leader. She earned a Master’s degree from Trinity Washington, DC in Educational Administration and a Bachelor’s degree from Howard University. Jenifer is a native Washingtonian with a love for learning, a deep connection to the community, and a hunger to disrupt inequity in education. She has created both district and school-wide professional development programs that have equipped educators with tools to create learning environments in which all children thrive. Jenifer is an instructional leader and has spearheaded the implementation of a variety of programs including Balanced literacy, Responsive Classrooms, Creative Curriculum, Project-based learning, Common Core Curriculum Mapping, and Data-Driving Instruction. Jenifer is a wife and a mom of one daughter and two sons. Jenifer uses her training and passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion to teach others to create equitable and inclusive institutions within the educational system. She believes that if education is to be the Great Equalizer, it must be rooted in equity and justice.
