Social and Cultural Studies for Grades K-5

We will use the Social Studies Alive! program because it is evidence-based and allows for multiple teaching methods, such as differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each child. Our children will learn about the world around them and different cultures through engaging activities and lessons. The units, such as “Me and My World,” helps children appreciate the diversity they will find in their classrooms; “Our Community and Beyond” broadens students’ awareness about local and global communities, geography, and different cultures; and other units are aligned with the National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies.
